Ms. Mariana Rodrigues is an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist with a career spanning over 18 years across acute and specialised care settings. She earned her nursing degree in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2008, beginning her practice in a busy acute ward before relocating to London in 2012.
Upon moving to the UK, Mariana joined University College London Hospitals (UCLH), where she initially gained experience in Care of the Elderly, managing patients with highly complex clinical needs. In 2017, she transitioned to the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU). In this high-pressure environment, she refined her expertise in delivering life-saving interventions and comprehensive stroke rehabilitation for acutely unwell patients.
Driven by a commitment to professional development, Mariana later joined the clinical management team as a Clinical Practice Facilitator. In this leadership capacity, she was responsible for mentoring and clinical supervision of nursing staff, overseeing clinical competency and ensuring the integration of evidence-based practice.
Mariana currently serves as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, providing expert care. She is also a key contributor to several Trust-wide quality improvement initiatives.
Her clinical approach is rooted in her early training in Portugal, with a deep interest in mental health and individualised patient care. Her academic research explored how Nurse led expressive activities impact the development of the therapeutic patient-nurse relationship.
