Dr. Chetan Kuloor

Dr. Kuloor is a senior Consultant Psychiatrist with an extensive experience of working in mental health services within the NHS for more than 18 years, with over 10 years’ experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist. He is an expert in diagnosing and treating a wide range of common and complex psychiatric conditions in working-age adults such as Depression, Anxiety, OCD, PTSD, Adult ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and Neuropsychiatric conditions.
In his current roles within the NHS, Dr. Kuloor works as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Associate Clinical Director for mental health services within Camden Borough Division at Camden & Islington NHS Foundation Trust. Dr. Kuloor has previously worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Medical Lead for Adult Community Mental Health (South West), Community Eating Disorders and Medical Psychotherapy services at Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr. Kuloor has a reputation for being a compassionate clinician, who places his patients at the heart of shared decision making. The feedback from Dr. Kuloor’s NHS patients consistently rate him highly for being polite, making them feel at ease, listening to them, assessing and explaining their condition and its treatment, and involving them in decision making.
Dr. Kuloor began his post-graduate psychiatric training at the Guy’s King’s St Thomas’ Psychiatric Training Scheme and trained at renowned hospitals across the UK. Dr. Kuloor completed his higher specialist psychiatric training at the prestigious Maudsley Training Scheme at South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. During his training, Dr. Kuloor has also worked at highly specialized services such as the Bipolar Disorders clinic at the Warneford Hospital in Oxford, the Neuropsychiatry and Memory Disorders clinic at St Thomas’ Hospital in London and Gender Identity Clinic at Charing Cross Hospital.
Dr. Kuloor obtained the Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry (DCP) in 2006 from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) in 2009, Master of Science (MSc) in Psychiatry in 2012 from Cardiff University, and International Membership of the American Psychiatric Association in 2012. He is on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council since 2014 as a specialist in General Adult Psychiatry, Liaison Psychiatry and Rehabilitation Psychiatry.
Dr. Kuloor was conferred the International Fellowship of the American Psychiatric Association (IFAPA) in 2015 and the Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) in 2022. Dr. Kuloor is an alumnus of the Nye Bevan programme of the NHS Leadership Academy, obtaining the Certificate in Executive Healthcare Leadership in 2018. Dr. Kuloor won numerous accolades during his training including second prize at the national undergraduate psychiatry quiz, special commendation for his scientific poster at an international conference and distinctions in his master’s degree.
Dr. Kuloor is a Regional Specialty Representative for General Adult Psychiatry in the London Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He is also a clinical examiner for MBBS undergraduate examinations of University College London (UCL) Medical School and MRCPsych postgraduate examinations of the Royal College of Psychiatrists respectively.
